18.09 | Exclusive rutting excursion on the Veluwe with Staatsbosbeheer
The Red Deer rutting season is approaching. As Veluwe enthusiasts, we are organizing a number of exclusive excursions this year in collaboration with Staatsbosbeheer. Experience this unique natural spectacle up close with this listening excursion
Time & Location
18 Sept 2019, 18:30 – 21:00
Otterloseweg between hm pole 20.4 and 20.5, Otterloseweg 116, 7339 GZ Ugchelen, The Netherlands
About the event
Red deer males let out their call, the bellowing, during the rut, and often literally compete for the females. In the dark and vast forest of the Veluwe, the participants in the exciting excursions look for bellowing red deer.
Be quick, because this excursion is very popular!
Start with coffee and an intro in the Nature Theater and then with a covered wagon to the rutting area. There follows a brisk walk (about 4 km).
Please note that the minimum age for children is 8 years.
The minimum age has the following reasons:
The excursion includes a long walk in the dark and it is important that you are completely still. If a (too young) child does not last, does not like it or is afraid of the dark, you cannot just go back. Then it is not fun for your child, not fun for you as a parent and also not fun for the rest of the group.
Route description: You will receive a route description by e-mail on the day itself.
